Indian weddings are celebrated with extensive  decorations, colours, music and dance depending on the religion of the bride and the groom. Giving away a daughter is the saddest part for a family visa versa it is sad for the daughter also to leave a family and go to an unknown place and family forever. 

 

To replace this sadness with happiness the family tries to make it memorable for their girl taking care of each and every aspect associated right from the henna on her hands to her jewellery, clothes, location depending on their class, status, religion and society. Each region in India is renowned for its unique wedding culture. Each state follows different wedding customs and traditions, the traditional wedding dress of a bride and the groom also varies from state to state in India. This publication was created to capture the richness of wedding attires of the northern states of India like Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
